Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Reviews

I was disappointed with the gift shop after our visit. There weren’t many options, and a lot of the items felt kind of repetitive. I expected there to be more to choose from, but we ended up leaving without buying anything. Did anyone else feel like the selection was really limited?

I used selby.org to learn at my own pace, and overall it was helpful. The information was easy enough to follow, and I did pick up a lot without getting too bored or totally lost. That said, I did notice the parts that felt a little dry or basic more than anything, and I wish some sections had a bit more depth. Still, it was useful and worked well for casual learning.

I went to selby during one of their seasonal exhibits and ended up having a really nice afternoon. I’m the kind of person who starts noticing little patterns in how displays are arranged, so I had fun spotting the color themes and seeing how each area seemed to lead into the next. It was easy to walk through, and every time I thought I’d seen the main attraction, there was another little detail around the corner.

It did get a bit crowded near the popular spots, but the staff kept things moving well and everything felt clean and organized. The ticket price felt reasonable for the amount there was to see. I’d definitely go back when the next exhibit rolls around, especially just to see how they change up the layout and ideas.

The place was clean overall, but I noticed around some of the corners and tables could’ve used a bit more attention. Not a big deal, but it wasn’t perfect.

I went to selby and, i was happy that the restrooms were easy to find and, you know, clean enough. I didn’t have to wander around forever trying to figure out where they were, which is always a huge plus. It just made the whole visit feel way more relaxed. Definitely 5 stars from me

I mainly went for the orchid displays, they were even prettier in person. My quick mental shortcut is usually: if I stop to take more than a couple photos, it’s a good visit, and I definitely did. Super easy to walk around, plenty to see, and the colors were just gorgeous

The staff were friendly enough, but I left feeling kind of confused?? They were nice, just not really as helpful as I was hoping today.

I took my kids here thinking there’d be a lot more for them to explore, but it was a bit disappointing. Some of the areas felt small, and there just wasn’t much to keep them busy for long. The plants were nice, sure, but I kept having to explain what everything was over and over because there wasn’t much else for them to actually do. They got bored faster than I expected

I went to an event I found through selby.org and had a good time. The venue was easy to find, and the staff were friendly once I got there, so that helped make things feel more relaxed.
I will say, after I paid, I felt a bit unsure because I didn’t get much reassurance right away and started wondering if everything was actually confirmed. Check-in also took longer than expected and it was crowded, but the event itself was fun overall. I’d probably go again, though I’d want clearer communication after payment next time.

The place itself is nice, but the tour felt a bit rushed and kind of boring. Our guide was friendly, but they didn’t really go into much beyond the basic facts, and sometimes it was hard to hear them. I kept expecting it to get more interesting, but it just didn’t. For the price, I thought there would be more to it. You might be better off just walking around on your own

I visited Marie Selby Botanical Gardens recently and, the signage could be a lot better. We had to stop a few times just to figure out where we were supposed to go, which gets a little frustrating. If it’s your first time there, how are you supposed to know where everything is? It’s a nice place overall, but clearer signs would make the visit much smoother

It’s a nice place overall and I’ve had a good experience, but I guess I expected a little more for the membership price. It’s not bad by any means, just feels slightly pricey for what’s included.

I was hoping this would be a nice spot for photos, but it was way too crowded and there were barely any good places to take pictures. After paying, I kind of felt like I’d been misled, which made me trust the whole experience a lot less.

I went with my family it was fine. The place is pretty, easy to walk around, and there are definitely some nice spots to enjoy. But I’m absolutely convinced the ticket price is too high for what you actually get. We finished way faster than I expected, and I kept thinking there had to be more included somewhere. It’s not a terrible place at all, but for us, it was very clearly not worth the cost.

For me, the whole place just had an off vibe. I can’t really point to one specific thing, but I personally felt uncomfortable being there and didn’t enjoy the experience.

They do have a good variety of plants, and a few looked really nice, but the overall quality was kind of uneven. Some seemed healthy while others looked neglected, which was disappointing for what I expected. I’m probably going to reach out to customer service because I feel like this should be addressed.

I had a really nice walk around the historic grounds and they’re definitely worth seeing. It was just crowded today, which made it a little less relaxing than I’d hoped. Felt like that was avoidable with better crowd flow or timing, but overall still a lovely place to visit

As someone who doesn’t love digging around complicated websites, I was happy with how simple this one was to use. Everything was easy to read, the text size felt comfortable, and I could find what I needed without getting frustrated or lost

I was hoping this cafe would be better, but it was disappointing. The coffee tasted a little off, and the service was slower than I expected. It feels like this place works when it wants to, which is frustrating when you just want a decent cup of coffee and to get on with your day.
